Anglia Ruskin University Visits JPIT
Anglia Ruskin University is the largest provider of health and social care courses through the East of England and is located in the beautiful city of Cambridge and on a new purpose built campus in the historic town of Chelmsford, just outside of London. The Faculty of Health & Social Care offers a comprehensive range of locally, nationally and internationally recognised courses. These are delivered by teams of experienced academic staff who all have relevant teaching and professional experience. Anglia Ruskin has been awarded ‘excellent’ ratings for the quality of its teaching and a number of special facilities including single study bedrooms with private bathroom located at both its campuses. In April 2010 J-Prompt Professional Institute of Technology - (JPIT) was nominated by UK Trade and Investment Section of the British High Commission (UKTI) to attend the Health Informatics 2010 Conference in Birmingham. Before the event, discussions were held on a possibility of UKTI assisting to identify a suitable UK Professional Body or University that would be interested in partnering with us to run our Diploma Courses in Medical Assistant Programme after obtaining the necessary authorization from the National Accreditation Board.
After various email exchanges with prospective UK partners, in February 2011, JPIT was privileged to receive a delegation from Anglia Ruskin University led by Prof. David Humber , Dean of Faculty of Health & Social care and Mrs. Ruth Jackson , Interim Executive Director & Deputy Dean, Academic & Partnership Development to discuss a partnership deal. We are proud that after various interactions with the National Accreditation Board/Ministry of Health and Anglia Ruskin University and after going through the initial evaluations/inspection stage of our facilities/Curriculum, Anglia Ruskin University has finally accepted our Partnership Deal with them - below is the detail of the deal we are about signing: Anglia Ruskin has agreed in principle to mentor, validate, accredit and certify our Medical Assistant Programme for 240 credits (prior learning (APL) scheme) which is an Advanced Diploma Status. 1. The University has also approved Tariff for our Medical Assistant Course. This will enable our MA graduates to do a one year top up course for an award to a degree in the following courses:
2. Anglia Ruskin University have also agreed that we act as course coordinators initially for the top up distance learning for qualified Diploma Nurses/Midwifes for a year top up degree for the above courses. Documentation on this relationship is currently on its finalized stage to enable us start a very exciting relationship with Anglia Ruskin University.
