SCHOOL OF MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Our Institution is recognized, registered and accredited by the Ghana Education Service, recognized by the National Accreditation Board, and is also in collaboration with well accredited Collages, Universities, Distance & e-learning professional bodies abroad.

JPIT currently holds a Three (3) Year Institutional authorization (recognition) from the Ghana National Accreditation Board effective September 1st 2009

The school is currently offering a program in Medical Assistantship (Diploma), a Four years (4years) direct Practical Hands-on program which has been permitted by the Ghana Medical and Dental Council.

ADMISSION

JPIT College admits students from all backgrounds without discrimination on the basis of religion, ethnicity, gender or political affiliations. Teaching, learning and research are our ultimate goal.
Consideration is given to qualified applicants from rural communities, where there is a dire need of qualified health workers, to serve after graduation.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT – DIPLOMA

Entry Requirement is an aggregate score of at least Twenty Four (24) in Six (6) subjects with at least credit passes in Three (3) Core Subjects which are;

* English
* Mathematics
* Integrated Science

And any Three (3) Science based Elective Subjects (A1 – E8 in WASSCE or A – E in SSSCE). (Elective Maths, Biology, Physics or Chemistry)

SPECIAL WEEKEND CLASS

Weekend classes are also available for adults and students with some level of experience on the medical field.

Requirements: Minimum of One (1) year working experience on the medical field with Qualification in the Medical Field

Certificate Awarded: Diploma in Medical Assistant

Duration: 2 Years (6months on campus and the 6 other months for Clinical Attachment for each year)

ACCADEMIC YEAR

The Academic year has two (2) semesters, as stated below:

First Semester: February 2010 – July 2010

Second Semester: July 2010 - December 2010

As part of this course, students will also be introduced to information technology - Medical Data transcription and Traditional Medicine at a separate cost.

External Examination will also be conducted for both learning and external monitoring body.

Student are required to apply to the Administration through their lecturer; for the creation of their username and password to access the school intranet to be informed on all issues related to the Institute and their various courses.
