University for Development Studies Visits JPIT Established in May 1992 by PNDC Law 279: It began academic work in September 1993 with the admission of thirty-nine (39) students into the Faculty of Agriculture, (FOA), Nyankpala. The mission of the University is to run programmes that will effectively and efficiently combine academic work with community-participation and extension. The University has established academic and research linkages with a number of Universities and Research Institutions both locally and internationally. It is also a member of the Association Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and the Association of African Universities (AAU), among others. In 2009 J-Prompt Professional Institute of Technology - (JPIT) aspiring at becoming a tertiary institution, subjected itself to the National Accreditation Board and secured an Institutional Authorization from this body, NAB; to prepare towards offering Tertiary Educational Programmes. It is for this reason and many others that JPIT, in October 2010 sent an application for Institutional Affiliation to the University for Development Studies (UDS) of which UDS responded by a visit to JPIT on April 13, 2011. We hope this visit will pave the wave for a long lasting relationship for the benefit of both JPIT and UDS, but also for the Ghanaian public and Ghana as a whole.
Documentation on this relationship is currently in progress to enable us start a very exciting relationship with University for Development Studies.
