MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND STAKEHOLDERS MEETING ON JPIT MA COURSE CURRICULUM

ACCREDITATION OF J-PROMPT INSTITUTE TO RUN MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAMM IN GHANA

JPIT approached the Ministry of Health for accreditation to run Medical Assistant Programme in Ghana.
Several meetings were held with both the officials of the Ministry of Health and its Agencies to discuss the curriculum into which a lot of inputs were made by the stakeholders.

As a follow up, a meeting was converged at the Ministry of Health to enable J-Prompt (JPIT) make a presentation on the curriculum on 23rd December, 2010.

The meeting expressed it’s satisfaction with the preparatory work done so far by JPIT School of Applied HealthCare and all issues that came up were duly addressed.

The following points were made:

1. That the entry qualification will be the same as those in other Health training institutions
2. That the fourth year students' internship must be left with Regulatory Bodies
3. That the schools should develop programmes that will facilitate their affiliation to foreign universities and institutions.
